What can you achieve with the Backlink Profiler (BLP)?
Analyze all your backlinks
It pulls data from 24 backlink sources, and we combine and verify it by retracking it for you. Only Link Detox has more link data.
You can also add additional binding data as you
upload your link lists,
connect your Google Search Console account as an additional link source.
The Backlink Profiler (BLP) combines the backlink data, cleans the link data, and then aggregates all SEO metrics, up to 97 of them.
Detect and analyze removed links
The Backlink Profiler can find removed links. Knowing which links were removed is often very useful. You can also create link profile slices just for removed links.
How to work with removed links
In the report details, removed links are marked with [LinkNotFound].
If a link has a [LinkNotFound] status, you may want to contact the website administrator and reset your link if it was a good link.
If a link is bad and you didn't want it in the first place, it's a good idea to make sure Google knows your link is gone. You can use Backlink Profiler in conjunction with Link Detox Boost® to achieve this.
Unmark redirects with Link Redirect Trace™
A redirect chain is where a domain links to you through one or more sites that use redirects.
Redirect chains appear over time and tend to be forgotten. If you can identify and remove these redirect chains, you can recover a large number of links by having the original site link directly to you.
Black hat SEOs often use redirects to rank a site better or hurt it by passing Google penalties, which is possible since Penguin 2.0.
So redirects and redirect chains can cause multiple problems.
By finding and removing redirect chains with the Backlink Profiler (BLP), you can:
Improve page speed – Redirect chains make pages load slowly for web crawlers and users. Page Speed is a small but significant ranking factor. Slow pages can cause dramatic drops in ranking in Google mobile search.
Improve user experience – The benefits of fast loading pages are clear. Research has shown that some users will leave if the page doesn't load within 3 seconds.
Conserve Link Juice – Matt Cutts suggested in this video that you can lose some link juice through 301 redirects.
Find the redirects you want to remove as they could hurt your organic rankings.
Save time by scanning just one page or a subfolder
Backlink Profiler reports for sections of your site or individual pages will be created much faster than a report for your entire domain. If you're interested in backlinks from a single subfolder or page, save time by analyzing just that section.
Here are some use cases. By using the BLP search page or subfolder you can:
Find the backlinks of a landing page
Find the backlinks of a particular category of an eCommerce store
Find all backlinks that link to a domain's home page
Analyze backlinks from a competitor's page that is outranking your page
Analyze rich and rich SEO metrics to choose from for each link
Backlink Profiler will always show you the most important metrics, but you can choose to include many other SEO metrics such as social votes, domain registration details, traffic indicators, Wiki links.
Easy-to-understand keyword data at a glance
The keywords and anchor text distribution of your backlinks are displayed using the anchor text cloud, a pie chart, and a table. Here you can spot any abnormalities at a glance. There are similar result sets for link status, deep link ratio, country popularity, etc.
Link profiles are histograms of SEO metrics for your backlink profile
Many histograms are available to display a variety of different metrics with advanced metrics like topic, site type, and link location.
You can use these SEO data breakdown charts to spot trends and patterns in backlink profiles. This is where the aggregation of data from so many link sources that LRT provides comes in handy; otherwise you would only be seeing a small portion of the data.
In-depth analysis, link by link
The BLP, like many other tools, offers a detailed link results table where you can see each link and dozens of metrics relevant to it.
You can segment and slice data in real time with simple and complex filters.
For each link selection, you can also apply multiple context-sensitive actions, such as communicating with webmasters, starting additional analysis steps, or managing them in your favorites and list.
For example, searching the Anchor Text [IMG without alt text] column will find images that have links to your site, but no alt text. In this case, it would be an advantage if the image had alt text, so you could communicate with the webmaster manually or automatically through our Pitchbox integration.
Link redirect tracking for all redirected URLs
The Backlink Profiler gives you more details about the links detected as redirects. You can simply filter on the "Link Status" to find all redirects in one click.
You will quickly see the redirect type in the details. It shows you the source URL and destination URL plus information about the type, like 301 (permanently moved) or 302 (found) etc.
You can also read more about the powerful Link Redirect Tracking feature and the browser extension we have for it.
Link Speed Trend Analysis
You can better understand your own and competitor's link growth and SEO campaigns by looking at Link Velocity and Link Velocity Trends.
It is imperative that you understand the natural link growth patterns in your niche in order to compete with other players.
Google uses link growth trends (ie LVT link speed trends) to understand which website is trying to manipulate your organic results. If your backlink profile grows too fast, you're out. If you are too slow, you will never get to the first page.
Knowing how many links are enough for your website, or when you have too many links, is important when planning any campaign. Creating too many backlinks in a short period of time can have a negative impact on your website rankings. If you create more links than most of the competitors in your niche, it may look suspicious and may trigger a Google algorithmic filter.
What countries do my links come from? Enter link local analysis
For successful local link analysis, as with any other competitor backlink analysis, the best practice is to run the Backlink Profiler (BLP) analysis for each of your top competitors and review their profile in terms of geographic link source.
LinkResearchTools allows you to understand the regional distribution of your backlinks across countries and even cities.
Detect deleted links and recreate them
You can find out which backlinks and their strength you lost in the past using the Backlink Profiler (BLP). If you missed a particular strong backlink, you can contact the webmaster to retrieve that link using the contact details provided by LRT.
